Landscape Installation Lead Hand
Are you an experienced tradesperson looking for a company that will provide you ample opportunity to prove your abilities and grow into a leadership role? Are you an experienced landscape installer hoping to take the next step in your career and start taking on responsibility with the goal of becoming a foreman/forewoman?
- Green as Grass_ might be the place for you.
**Who is Green as Grass?**
**What Type of Person Meets Our Criteria?**
- **Construction Experience** - The more time you have on jobsites, the better. Experience in landscape installations is preferential, however not completely necessary as we will consider talented people without landscaping experience so long as they have experience in other trades. You should understand all basic construction concepts (measuring, leveling, etc.)
- **A Good Work Ethic** - Come to work daily, ready to sweat a little. We don’t demand that you run a marathon every day, but this is a physical job and you should be prepared to work with and lift heavy objects regularly and push yourself to a pace that is tiring but manageable in whatever task you are doing. You will be setting the pace as a leader and will be expected to lead by example.
- **Dependable** - The first thing we demand of our leaders is that they do what they say they will do. Show up when and where you are expected to be, ready to perform.
- **A Desire to do Good Work** - You should care about the product you are installing and have a desire to leave our clients with a preferable result, no matter how small your task might be. Every part of our work is important and we want you to care and get the satisfaction of a job well done at the end of the day.
**What Can We Provide You?**
- **Wages Based on Performance** - One of our mantras is that we are proud to pay our team members for what they are worth. Your talents and efforts will be compensated according to your ability and contributions. We make it a goal to give raises before you feel the need to ask for one. If you consistently produce a better and faster install, you could earn way more than you started at, in no time. We don’t shy away from giving frequent raises, provided that you have earned it. Simply put, the more you produce, the more we make, and the more we can afford to pay you. We think it’s only fair and are happy to pay more for those who produce more, that way we all win in the end.
- **$3000 Signing Bonus** - We offer a $3000 signing bonus payable to Lead Hands & Foremen after 6 months of full-time work. If you aren’t sure about working with us, give it a shot for 6 months, and if you decide this isn’t for you, we will be happy to give you the bonus, shake hands, and part ways. However, most people tend to stay much longer once they join our team.
- **Performance Bonuses** - We offer bonuses to all Foremen beyond their regular wage based on the performance of their assigned site. The better your site performs, the bigger your bonus will be.
- **Opportunity for Advancement**:
- We are looking to expand our company and we need talented people to fill critical roles. If you prove to be responsible and have a passion for landscaping along with the necessary skills, we would be happy to train and advance you beyond the position you are hired into. Of course this would come with more responsibilities and more compensation.
- **Training** - We will be happy to train you in our field of expertise. Whether you lack experience in a particular task or in the general demands of what it takes to be a successful Foreman, we love being able to develop people who show talent and passion. Ask about our Foreman Fast Track program in your interview.
- **Flexibility** - Everybody needs a break and we recognize that our team needs to get away and enjoy life outside of work. We are happy to accommodate extra vacation time and as a result we don’t limit the amount of vacation days allotted.
- **Permanent, Full-time Work** - We are not seasonal. We work through the entire year and you can expect to be able to earn a living year-round. We work Monday-Friday, day shifts. Saturdays are sometimes available for those interested in working more, but it's completely optional and never expected of anyone.
**What Tasks Should You Expect to do?**
- **Soft Landscaping** - Loading and grading soil, sand, mulch, road base, and rock. Installing sod, plants, and trees.
- **Hard Landscaping** - Installing artificial turf, pavers on aggregate, pavers on pedestals, concrete block walls and various woodworking from retaining walls, fences, drip strips, and pergolas.
- **Site Management (Foreman)** - Attending site meetings, planning completion schedules, coordinating with fellow trades, coordinating your crew, training your crew, recording your site's performance, and ordering materials.
**Experience/Qualifications That Could be Beneficial**
- Landscaping installation experience
- Drivers license (Necessary for Foremen)
- Excavator operation experience
