**Role Overview and about the Team**:
The collaborative management team is responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans for the supportive housing program. They assess the needs of the target population, identify gaps in services, and develop innovative approaches to address those needs. They also establish program goals, objectives, and performance indicators to measure the program's effectiveness.
**Maintain program operational guidelines**:The Manager and Supervisor are responsible for establishing operational guidelines and requirements, followed by frontline bargaining unit staff. These guidelines serve as a framework for staff to deliver services consistently and efficiently.
**Provide training, mentoring, and support**:The Supervisor, with the guidance of the Manager, ensures that frontline bargaining unit staff receive appropriate training, mentoring, and support. This includes equipping staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to fulfill their roles effectively and providing ongoing guidance and assistance to promote their professional growth.
**Oversee day-to-day operations**: The Manager and Supervisor jointly oversee and direct the day-to-day operations of the Supportive Housing program. They are responsible for coordinating the activities of frontline bargaining unit staff, monitoring service delivery, and addressing any operational issues that may arise. Ensures that allocated resources are efficient and that services provided meet the program's objectives and standards.
By working together as a collaborative management team, the Manager and Supervisor aim to maintain program integrity, provide adequate support to staff, and ensure the smooth functioning of the Supportive Housing program. Their partnership helps to create a positive and effective work environment and contributes to the development of the program's operational protocols and procedures.
**Summary of Duties**:
**1. Operational Support**:
- The Supervisor is expected to assume overall operational oversight of the program during their assigned hours/shifts when the Manager is not present
- Assumes responsibility for ensuring any emergency/crises that may arise during their assigned hours/shifts are effectively addressed while making every effort to safeguard tenants and staff in the process
- Coordinates the submission of requisitions and/or work orders for program supplies and, as needed, repairs to program equipment/facilities
- Participates, coordinates, and leads team meetings and/or task forces, ad hoc committees as required
- Participates and assists in investigations relating to incidents, occurrences, deficiencies noted in quality assurance reports, and/or compliance breaches/violations
- Assists the Manager, as required, with daily shift planning meetings
**2. People Management**:
- Assumes primary responsibility for the day-to-day performance management of all bargaining unit staff working on the shifts corresponding to the Supervisor's assigned hours/shifts
- Assumes primary responsibility for leading the annual performance appraisal process for the full-time bargaining unit staff who work on shifts corresponding to the Supervisor's assigned hours/shifts, and may also lead the annual performance appraisal process of some part-time and/or casual bargaining unit staff, as may be requested by the Manager
**3. In collaboration with the Manager**:
- Ensures all staff are trained in standard administrative practices, program protocols, safety procedures, and applicable policies during orientation and ongoing
- Directs, supervises, supports, mentors, and coaches the work of bargaining unit staff while adhering to terms of the Collective Agreement in doing so
- Organizes and coordinates staff schedule(s) including support with payroll administration and attendance management as required
- Adheres to other terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
