**The Opportunity**

The Head of Production will also act as an intermediary between Thinkingbox Films and other departments within Thinkingbox, ensuring clear and open communication and facilitating a collaborative working environment.

**What You'll Be Doing**:

- ** Departmental Management**:

- Manage, mentor, teach and inspire a diverse team of Executive Producers, Producers, Post Supervisors and Post-Producers who are in charge of leading day-to-day production.
- Provide leadership to drive continuous improvement, making recommendations on best practices to increase efficiency.
- Own and guide Executive Producers in the development, writing, and presentation of production proposals, scopes of work, and schedules for existing clients and new business.
- Build out Thinkingbox Films production capabilities across its North American offices maintaining parity in process and quality while incorporating existing teams in Salt Lake City and Los Angeles.
- Build out in conjunction with the post production and content team the Thinkingbox Films post production capabilities and pipeline capable of working with post production vendors including editors, designers, motion artists and finishing artists worldwide in a seamless and efficient manager.
- Develop and implement processes and procedures to execute production at varied levels in a transparent, collaborative and efficient manner amongst a team of producers.
- Oversee and coordinate several production work-streams, incorporating needs and requests of other teams and adjusting production strategies and staffing as needed, including coordination of all production calendars, work-back schedules, pre-production and post-mortems.
- Ensure Executive Producers are overseeing production budgets and scope, managing the revenue/margins and level of quality throughout client productions.
- Review the performance of production team members and ensure they receive feedback on a regular basis, including 3 month and annual reviews, and make recommendations on promotions and career development.
- Be aware of the work climate, taking steps to encourage and ensure the maintenance of a positive and supportive work culture.

Intra-Agency**:

- Embody all department head responsibilities, including setting and upholding standards for your department, growing and developing your team, partnering with cross-functional leaders, agency advocacy and continually staffing your team with the best talent.
- Creating an environment that allows for independent problem solving and collaboration.
- Foster relationships with cross-functional teams such as Design and Art, to ensure efficient and timely resourcing of talent from other Thinkingbox departments, taking existing workflows into account and ensuring projects are delivering against asks.
- Work closely with the Directors of Production within Thinkingbox to track and forecast all budget, out-of-pocket costs, profits, etc. as well as reconcile program costs against the budget for all productions.
- Collaborate with other departments on pitches, productions and operations.
- Work with legal to develop and execute talent agreements, specialized materials releases, and other similar legal documentation.
- Work with the finance department to streamline and maintain timely vendor payment procedures and process, and track accountability.

Externally**:

- Positively represent Thinkingbox Films within the production and related communities, both locally and in the worldwide market, to further grow the company’s reputation as an industry leader in production and post production.
- Identify and maintain strong relationships with outside creative and talent partners, including directors, production vendors, rental houses, on camera talent, content creators, post production houses and post production specialists who are the leaders in their respective fields.

**What You'll Bring**:

- Excellent knowledge of the Film and Animation Production process, from concept to delivery;
- Extensive experience managing teams of Executive Producers, Producers, Post Producers, crews and creatives;
- 5+ years experience producing, including production budgets in excess of $500k CAD;
