Working within a client-centered model, the Recreation Program Assistant is responsible for meeting the needs a group of clients with cognitive impairment, including dementia, by creating and implementing engaging programs.

This position starts as on call/casual and has the opportunity to increase to part time or full time employment.
- Create programs that are both creative and engaging for all
- Recreation Program Assistants are required to record/report on status of clients in an efficient and professional manner.
- May be required to participate in virtual programming. Creating pre-recorded videos to engage clients both physically and cognitively. Knowledge of PowerPoint and Microsoft Teams considered an asset.
- Willingness to engage in professional development

**Qualifications**:

- 1-2 years of experience working with older adults with dementia or other cognitive impairments recommended
- A background in recreation, and/or experience working with older adults with cognitive impairments
- SSW, DSW or Recreation Therapist background, considered an asset
- Comprehension in the field of gerontology
- CPR/First Aid required

**Salary**: From $16.50 per hour
