**What you will be doing**:
Community Initiatives (CI) Supervisors provide support, guidance, and direction to staff working as Roots and Wings, Success Coaches, Youth Liaisons, and/or Cultural Coaches. CI Supervisors are responsible for case/project management, performance coaching, ongoing staff development, program outcome and evaluation, data management, and monitoring trends/issues in their program(s). This position reports to the Manager of Community Initiatives. This Position will run for up to a year, with the possibility of extension.
- Interview and select new staff in consultation with Manager of Community Initiatives
- Provide guidance, direction, and support to staff
- Provide monthly supervision to staff
- Build and maintain effective, cohesive, and dedicated frontline teams
- Share knowledge and understanding of community resources with Community Initiatives staff
- Create a healthy and safe environment which promotes staff engagement in meetings, supervisions, and agency events
- Interpret, explain, and share agency/program policies with staff
- Receive, negotiate, and assign referrals to appropriate service providers (when applicable)
- Monitor and review client data for completeness, accuracy, and consistency to ensure that files meet agency requirements for quality improvement, evaluation, and reporting
- Collect and monitor personnel files for all direct reports to ensure that files meet agency requirements for quality improvement and accreditation standards
- Monitor and review staff performance in compliance with agency policies and professional standards
- Actively participate in external partner collaboration meetings and internal advisory committees
- Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures in accordance with accreditation standards
- Build relationships with service providers, community partners and stakeholders in the community
- Practice in a manner that is consistent with The Family Centre’s mission, vision, and guiding principles
- Collect program outcome data and monitor service delivery
- Consult with and assist Manager of Community Initiatives on program activities, evaluation, development, and staffing
**What you will bring to the role**:
- Degree in human service field with knowledge, experience and competence in child and youth care practice, family support practice, and community capacity building
- 3 years direct client service experience required
- Knowledge, skills, and ability to practice trauma-informed care required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Supervisory and management experience is an asset
- Knowledge and experience with Children’s Services is an asset
- RSW or Equivalent Membership within another professional body is an asset (if eligible)
- Understanding the meaning in teachings and values embedded in ceremony, circle processes, and relational accountability
- Understanding the importance of ally-ship with equity-seeking communities
**Background Check Process & Requirement**:
- Police Information Check
- Vulnerable Sector (Completed within the last 6 months)
- Child Intervention Records Check (completed within the last 6 months)
- Awareness of Indigenous worldviews
- Reliable Vehicle, available for regular use and valid driver’s license
- Brain Story Certification Training (must be completed within the first 1 year of employment)
