**Objective**

As a member of the Portable Crushing team, the Labourer position will execute the daily tasks of operating and maintaining the crusher, wash plants, screens, mobile equipment and conveyor equipment in accordance with Lafarge’s Best Practices and Policies as well as perform all administration related to the equipments’ operation. Travel with the plant as required.

This position is for a dayshift, afternoon/evening shift and occasional weekend work.

**Responsibilities**

Safety:

- Promote safety culture through engagement with employees, subcontractors and suppliers, implementation and maintenance of local and regional initiatives with an objective of “zero” safety incidents.
- Administer and promote safety policies, processes and review procedures to ensure that site meets or exceeds all Lafarge and Regulatory guidelines.

Environmental Management:

- Ensure that site meets or exceeds all Lafarge and Regulatory guidelines.
- Report and manage environmental spills to site management as they occur.
- Operate equipment effectively to minimize carbon footprint of machinery.

Equipment:

- Ensure equipment is operated to original equipment manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices.

Plant Maintenance:

- Ensure daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections regarding preventative maintenance actions are scheduled and completed.
- Perform adjustments and clean up on equipment to ensure equipment runs efficiently.
- Perform repair on equipment as required.

Other:

- Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the site.
- Perform general housekeeping tasks to ensure the site is presentable.

Relationships with Others Jobs:

- Reports to the Plant Lead Hand/Plant Manager
- This position requires extensive liaison with the Mobile Equipment operators, Wash Plant operators and Primary Plant Operator.

**Qualifications**
- Education & Work Experience:_
- Canadian secondary school diploma or equivalent
- Industrial plant operation/maintenance experience an asset
- Heavy equipment operation experience an asset
- Knowledge & Skills:_
- First Aid
- WHMIS
- Surface Miner training
- Confined space training
- Working-at-heights training
- Mechanical aptitude / extensive manual labor tasks
- Specific mobile equipment training
