The West Vancouver Community Services Department is currently seeking to fill a permanent full-time Youth Outreach Worker to join our highly qualified team. In addition to delivering primarily preventative, “wrap-around” community-based services to address age-appropriate needs, this position will respond to youths' unique needs to develop knowledge and skills, learn to manage emotions and relationships, and acquire important attributes and abilities, and will engage with youth in all places and spaces in West Vancouver.
- Establishing ongoing relationships with youth, including those in imminent risk, to provide support and develop personal, social, and leadership potential;
- Providing outreach to youth in community;
- Working independently and utilizing critical thinking skills to work effectively with youth in crisis;
- Assist in managing youth in our various Youth Services drop in spaces
- Planning, developing, coordinating, implementing and supervising Youth Services outreach programs, out trips and events;
- Working in partnership and collaboration with other Youth Services providers;
- Understanding a wide variety of youth issues; and
- Performing other related duties as required.

Hours of Work:
37.5 hours per week (hours and days of work may vary)

Starting Rate of Pay:
$36.97 per hour
- This position has a pay structure with five steps which increase annually.
