**Job Title: Community Support Worker - Punjabi/Hindi Speaking Client**

Independent Counselling Enterprises (I.C.E.) is a province-wide agency that has been in operation since 1986. We offer supports to individuals with developmental disabilities. We are community based and strive to empower and foster independence in our clients.

**Hours**: Monday through Friday 9:30am-2:30pm

**Location: Edmonton Southside**

**Qualifications**:

- Experience working with people with disabilities _**required.**_
- **-Must **_speak Punjabi or Hindi
- Medical experience an _**asset.**_
- Experience working with people with epilepsy an _**asset.**_
- _Experience working with mechanical lifts an _**asset.**_
- Experience working with people with catheter care and ostomy care an _**asset.**_
- Experience completing personal care **r*_**equired.*_
- _**Must**_ have Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check dated within the last 6 months. Required before commencing employment.
- Minimum of Emergency First Aid with CPR level A _**required.**_
- Vehicle, valid driver’s license and Third Party $2million liability insurance _**required.**_
- Valid work/study permit (if applicable) _**required.**_

**-**Willing to complete 2 ½ days of mandatory training.
- Willing to travel anywhere within Edmonton
- Outgoing, friendly and possess a positive and professional attitude, with demonstrated willingness to learn

**Duties/Responsibilities**:
**-**Assisting clients with daily living skills and encouraging independence
- Community access; taking and participating with clients in community, social and employment activities and increasing inclusion in the community
- Performing personal care (bath assists, shaving, toileting)
- Administering medication
- Working as a part of a residential team, being able to work independently and work in a team atmosphere
- Dealing with behaviors in a positive, calming manner
- Maintaining appropriate documentation records and confidentiality with clear communication skills

**Summary**

As a Support Worker with a Punjabi/Hindi Speaking Client, you will utilize your core skill in caregiving to provide compassionate support and assistance to clients. Your premium skills in assisted living, patient care, and senior care will enable you to deliver high-quality care tailored to individual needs. With relevant skills in meal preparation, medication administration, and cleaning, you will ensure a safe and comfortable environment for clients. Fluency in Punjabi and Hindi, along with certifications in First Aid, CPR, and a valid driver's license, will further enhance your ability to communicate effectively and provide comprehensive care to clients with diverse needs.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $15.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
