Shipping Assistant

**Overview**

**Duties**
- Assist with loading of containers - this is a mechanical process; however, you will be required to lift 100 lbs occasionally on a daily basis.
- Complete the paperwork as it relates to shipments including, but no limited to, bills of lading, CFIA and Grading sampling and reporting, poly bag inventory reporting, Canadian Grain Commission reporting and reporting to our buyers.
- Work with seed plant operator, manager, drayage and trucking companies to arrange and plan shipping schedules.
- Ensure all food safety and quality requirements are met, recorded and managed.
- Assist with the overall day to day operations of the facility including housekeeping, maintenance and sample preparation.
- This job will be an approximate 50:50 split between office admin work and physical labor.
- This job requires working in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels and moving machinery.
- Ability to operate equipment and complete basic maintenance.

**Qualifications/Skills**
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency in English
- Basic math skills
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Familiarity with logistics processes
- Basic equipment operation/mechanical skills
