**Position Summary**:
**Diagnostic Technician**
Day Shift: 8:30am-5:30pm - **$25-27/hr**
**This position is not suitable for students.**
**Position to start ASAP**
**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a full-time, on-site Test Technician in Aurora to join our team. The role primarily involves testing and calibrating new instruments, troubleshooting and repairing returned products, and ensuring all items meet our strict quality control standards. You’ll work closely with the Operations Manager and team, contributing to the overall success and reliability of our products.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Testing and Calibration:_
- Test and calibrate electronic instruments using tools such as multimeters, scopes, power supplies, and virtual benches.
- Troubleshoot and repair instruments to ensure functionality and adherence to specifications.
- Perform required safety tests and document results.
- Set up and image PCs for Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace, following proper safety procedures.
- Record and report test data as required.
- RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) Repairs:_
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and repair returned customer units in a timely manner.
- Provide estimates on repair time and material costs to the Sales department.
- Document repairs and perform necessary calibrations.
- Offer feedback on recurring failures to help improve product design.
- Quality Control:_
- Conduct QC inspections on sub-assemblies and finished products.
- Ensure all components meet specifications, including proper wiring and safety standards.
- Record and report any non-compliance or production issues.
- General Duties:_
- Assist with general assembly, additional testing, or facilities maintenance as needed.
- Report safety hazards and follow all safety guidelines.
**Qualifications**:
**Education**: Electronics Technician or Technologist diploma is required.
**Experience**:
- 3+ years of experience in electronics test and calibration.
- 3+ years of experience in electronics diagnostics and repair.
- Proven ability to read and interpret electronic schematics.
- Soldering experience with both through-hole and surface-mount components, including fine-pitch components.
- Experience with mechanical assembly and using basic hand tools is an asset.

- Proficient in reading and interpreting electronic schematics.
