Medical Lab Technician

**Start Date**: Immediate **Overview** TrustyMed Medical Clinic is a modern, multidisciplinary clinic offering family medicine, walk-in, and specialty care in a rapidly growing community. We are seeking a **dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician** to join our clinical team. This role plays a vital part in supporting patient care through accurate sample collection, preparation, and coordination of lab services. **Key Responsibilities** - Collect and process biological samples, including blood, urine, and swabs - Perform **phlebotomy** procedures and ensure proper specimen labelling - Prepare lab requisitions and ensure proper handling for transport - Conduct routine point-of-care tests and assist with test coordination - Document findings accurately and communicate results to physicians - Maintain inventory, lab equipment, and ensure clean, safe workspaces - Follow infection control and biohazard safety protocols - Use **OSCAR PRO EMR** to manage lab orders and documentation - Manage incoming/outgoing lab reports, faxes, and follow-ups - Assist with administrative tasks related to lab and clinic support **Qualifications** - Completion of a recognized **Medical Laboratory Technician/Assistant program**: - **Proof of certification** (e.g., MLPAO, CSMLS, or equivalent) - Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical or hospital lab setting preferred - Proficient in **phlebotomy techniques** and patient interaction - Familiarity with **OSCAR PRO EMR** (required) - Experience with **OCEAN eReferral platform** is an asset - Strong knowledge of lab safety, quality control, and medical terminology - Attention to detail with excellent documentation and communication skills - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting **Requirements**: - Proof of certification - Up-to-date **CPR and First Aid certification**: - Criminal background check - Professional references **Language Assets (Preferred but Not Required)** - **Mandarin**: - **Cantonese**: - **French**: - **Italian**: - **Filipino**: - **Urdu** **Why Join TrustyMed?** - Work in a supportive, high-demand family medicine and specialty care environment - Exposure to diverse patients and procedures - Collaborative, experienced team - On-site pharmacy and full administrative support - Free parking **To Apply**: **"Medical Lab Technician Application - [Your Name]"** **Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $20.00-$26.00 per hour Schedule: - 10 hour shift - 8 hour shift - Day shift - Evening shift - Monday to Friday - Weekends as needed Work Location: In person
