Educator, French Fluency

**THE ORGANIZATION**

Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies (FSWC) is a non-profit human rights organization committed to countering racism and antisemitism and to promoting the principles of inclusion, social justice and Canadian democratic values through advocacy and education.

**THE OPPORTUNITY**

FSWC seeks an experienced Educator fully fluent in French to join the education department. As an FSWC Educator, you will be responsible for leading innovative and inspiring programming in both in-person and virtual formats for elementary and high school students and educators across Canada.

**YOU WILL**:

- Learn _Equity & Diversity workshops_ and lead student and adult participants through these workshops both in-person and virtual formats.
- Learn _Tour for Humanity_ workshops and lead participants through _these workshops._
- Contribute to the development of new educational programs and experiences that align with the goals of FSWC.
- Build and maintain educational networks with teachers and community educators to ensure frequent re-booking, as well as participation in other educational programs.
- Build and maintain relationships with survivor communities.
- Assist with the planning, promotion, and successful execution of all educational events.
- Support other FSWC team members as needed leading up to and during annual organizational events (i.e., _Spirit of Hope_, _Voices of Change_, etc.).

**YOU ARE SOMEONE WITH**:

- Must be fully fluent in French language, oral and written.
- A knowledge and understanding of Holocaust and genocide education along with the fight against hate, discrimination and antisemitism and the protection and advancement of human rights nationally and globally.
- Strong and engaging presentation skills and creative approaches to generating interactivity with students in both virtual and in-person formats.
- Ontario College of Teachers certification or equivalent experience along with a comprehensive knowledge of curriculum expectations an asset.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle that allows you to travel to schools (required).
- Superior relationship-building and communication skills ensuring the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders at all levels of education.
- Excellent attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
- Self-motivated and decisive with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
- A solid understanding of technology and how to navigate a variety of platforms (including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom, etc.).

**WHAT YOU BRING**:

- Ability to teach in French a requirement.
- A knowledge and passion about the Holocaust, genocide, antisemitism, and more general human rights issues from both an historical and contemporary perspective.
- Bachelor’s degree in an associated field.
- 3+ years experience working with elementary and/or high school-aged students.
- Flexible schedule that is open to early mornings and a willingness to travel across Canada to present programs.
