From brainstorming ideas and stress testing them with customers, to assisting with the development of marketing launch strategies, the new product development lead is the champion and lays the foundation for new projects. Through a deep understanding of customer needs and the competitive landscape, new product development leads are ultimately responsible for collaboration with a cross function team and executing on Brandt’s Product Development Process. Meticulous planning initiates this process and is a critical component that leads to the creation of products that are innovative, competitively priced, appropriately featured and align with the overall strategy of the organization.
We are looking for an individual who has a passion for the construction industry and understands the significant impact effective equipment can play on the job site. Success in this role requires a humble curiosity, and the ability for full understanding of market and customer dynamics. This is a unique and highly impactful opportunity to shape the vision for Brandt products for years to come.
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Collect, Analyze and Interpret Market Data from brochures, websites, dealers, customers, trade shows and industry publications.
- Understand industry trends, customer needs and dealer requirements.
- Identify current product gaps, weaknesses, and advantages
- Develop and prioritize ideas for new products and model updates across the entire product line.
- Develop long-term Research & Development plans for the Machine Conversion product line.
- Plan and help deliver a go-to-market launch plan for new products.
**Required Skills**:
Required Experience
- A passion and understanding of equipment and the ability to translate and articulate customer needs.
- Experience in the following areas - direct use of the product(s), sales, design, customer support or manufacturing.
- Excellent organization & communication skills - written and verbal.
- The ability to work with all levels and departments in the organization.
- An understanding of business and product financial metrics.
- The ability to travel 1 week per month when necessary.
