ABOUT YOU
As a local business with a social purpose, we are seeking a General Manager who can bring the following:

- Exceptional knowledge and experience in the world of baking and culinary arts, particularly in retail and wholesale environments. This must include a combination of work experience and education.
- A solid foundation in business management, to move this social enterprise forward in an efficient and business-forward way.
- An ability to communicate clearly and openly to individuals from all walks of life and within many scenarios.
- Strong organization and leadership abilities; you must be able to lead a developing team confidently and with grace.
- A passion for community and for finding unique ways to show care and compassion to others.
- An innovative, “outside of the box” style when it comes to new business ideas and ways of delivering service. This includes an understanding of creating and maintain a solid online presence.
- A commitment to creating, leading and being part of a high functioning team this includes communication skills, conflict management, an understanding of personality styles and team dynamics, and a willingness to share in the challenges and celebrations of a busy business.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

- Management: Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of the bakery.
- Scheduling and coordination: Manage and plan weekly production numbers with team.
- Customer service: Engage with customers to form long status relationships. Address customers' complaints or concerns, and ensure that the customer is ‘always first’ in all service delivery.
- Supervision: Recruit, train and supervise staff, including existing and experienced staff as well as work experience trainees in the social enterprise.
- Marketing: Participate in marketing plans and implementation planning with the intent of growing the business and its clientele in a sustainable and market savvy way. Identify opportunities for increasing revenue and communicate to upper management.
- Financial oversight: Monitor revenues and modify procedures, prices and payroll against budget and sales. Develop, implement and analyze budgets
- Day to day operational management: may include, but not be limited to:

- Ensure communication between all management with daily notes
- Update pre-shift notes between shifts
- Ensure appropriate communication between the bakery & cafe
- Ensure all equipment is in good working order - liaising with maintenance and repair service providers as required
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
- Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance
- Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures

Key requirements:

- Minimum 2 years experience in food service or hospitality management
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to hold oneself and other accountable
- Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence

**Salary**: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
