We are growing rapidly and we’re looking for someone who shares this vision and wants to grow with us **WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR** We are looking for curious industrial lab technicians to help bring new and innovative formulations to life. This role will be based out of our newly equipped Fraser Lab in Toronto. **This role is looking for the incumbents to work either a Monday to Friday Shift or a Sunday to Thursday Shift.** **WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE** - Conduct sampling using aseptic techniques for laboratory testing: raw materials, bulk, and finished products. - Execute environmental monitoring sampling: air, surfaces, water, equipment - Prepare media, reagent, solution based on USP, EP, BP and/or internal procedure. - Quality control checks on in-house prepared and commercially prepared media - Growth promotion testing, sterility checks, pH check. - Cleaning of lab ware and decontamination waste - Manage inventory needs for laboratory materials and supplies. - Required to handle different types of instrumentation/equipment such as pH meter, water activity meter, autoclave, Masterclave, dilumat, automated plate pourer, balance, biosafety cabinet, etc. - Assist with sample preparation for Microbial limit test, water testing, Environmental monitoring etc. - Label samples and prepare documentation for shipping as needed. - Follow internal procedures, participate in lab team meetings and elaborate environmental reports **SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE** - GMP-trained and aseptic technique qualifications are an asset. - Effective time management, organizational and communication skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint etc. is required. - Diploma or bachelor’s degree in microbiology or equivalent - 1-2 years of Microbiology Laboratory experience. **WHAT YOU’LL BE GAINING BY JOINING OUR TEAM** There’s a lot of good stuff that comes along with being a DECIEM team member.
