**Excavator Operator**

Fisher Wavy is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Excavator Operator at our Vale Operations. This is a full-time year-round position with competitive wages and a benefits package.

**Job Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Perform daily pre-ops and attend daily safety meetings.
- Safely operating an excavator, with experience of excavator loading requirements.
- Identify, report and correct hazards.
- Full-face respirator must be worn in accordance with policies, procedures and Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.
- Team player and display professionalism toward our company and customers.
- Maintain a clean excavator and work areas.
- Perform regular cleaning of motor vehicles and mobile equipment to control dust (inside and outside cab).
- Physical work including lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, crouching, climbing, crawling and reaching repeatedly throughout the workday.
- Assist as required in safely operating both the trackmobile and overhead crane, including reporting railcar number and any deficiencies to supervisor.
- Assist with offloading duties when required.
- Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

**Job Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Minimum 1 year experience operating an Excavator
- Valid Certification to operate a hydraulic Excavator required
- Surface Miner Common Core is considered an asset

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Ability to work on Vale property and successfully complete required training and certification.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a cheerful outlook and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Must be willing to remove all facial hair (if applicable) for respirator fit test and remain clean-shaven when required to wear a respirator.
