Position Summary

Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, the Research Analyst will assist in a variety of aspects related to investment management of over $1.5 billion in assets across Pools and Mandates. This position provides an opportunity to pursue a career in investment management with substantial advancement opportunities, direct involvement in the portfolio management process, and a competitive salary and benefits package.
Key Responsibilities (Investment Funds)
- Research and analysis of equity securities for consideration as investment opportunities
- Create and maintain financial models of existing and potential holdings
- Analysis and reporting of quarterly earnings results of current and potential holdings to the Portfolio Manager and Investment Committee
- Creation and delivery of communication tools, resources, and presentations to enhance our stakeholders’ comprehension and understanding of Value Partners’ investment principles and the businesses we choose to invest
- Assist with ad-hoc analysis as required
- Provide ongoing support to other departments as needed
- Other duties as assigned, of which the above are representative

**Qualifications**:
Education & Experience:

- Undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or related discipline
- 1 - 2 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role
- A combination of education and experience will be considered

Skills & Abilities:

- A passion for investing and following the markets
- Exceptional attention to detail, communication & writing ability, and organizational skills
- Advanced proficiency and working knowledge/experience with Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Enrolled or willing to enroll in the CFA or CBV program
- Proven analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to work in a changing environment
- Knowledge of the investment industry an asset

Nice-To-Have:

- Experience with S&P Capital IQ
- Experience with programming in Visual Basic

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
