**Job Overview**:
**The Service and Quality Control Technician will be responsible for ensuring the proper installation,**
**maintenance, and repair of flooring systems. They will also be tasked with conducting quality control**
**checks to ensure that flooring installations meet the company's standards, as well as client**
**specifications. This role requires a blend of hands-on technical skills and keen attention to detail to**
**ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with industry standards.**
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Flooring Installation & Maintenance**:
- **Install various types of flooring (hardwood, vinyl plank, tile, laminate, etc.) in residential and commercial properties.**:
- **Perform floor preparation tasks such as surface cleaning, leveling, sanding, and moisture testing before installation.**:
- **Repair and maintain existing flooring systems by addressing issues such as surface damage, wear, or misalignment.**:
- **Provide expert advice to**customers regarding flooring materials, care, and maintenance.
Quality Control:
- Conduct thorough inspections of completed flooring projects to ensure compliance with company quality standards and specifications.
- Review project plans and blueprints to verify proper flooring layout and installation procedures.
- Identify and resolve any potential issues in workmanship, ensuring all flooring meets safety and aesthetic requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to address and resolve quality concerns promptly.
Customer Service & Reporting:
- Communicate directly with clients to ensure their needs and expectations are met in all flooring installations.
- Provide detailed reports on quality control checks and installations, highlighting any issues or recommendations for improvement.
- Assist customers with post-installation issues, providing solutions or coordinating repairs as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, quality control reports, and service activities.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and guidelines during the flooring installation and maintenance process.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety tools as required to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Follow proper disposal procedures for waste materials such as old flooring, adhesives, and solvents.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist in the training of junior technicians and new team members.
- Keep up to date with new flooring technologies, materials, and trends in the industry.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in flooring installation, maintenance, or a related field (2+ years preferred).
- Certification or training in flooring installation or quality control is a plus.
**Skills**:
- Strong understanding of different types of flooring materials and installation techniques.
- Excellent eye for detail with a focus on precision and quality.
- Knowledge of quality control standards and inspection processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to manage client expectations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and kneeling.
- Comfortable working in various indoor environments, including residential and commercial settings.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a variety of environments, including homes, offices, and commercial buildings.
- Willingness to travel to different job sites as required.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet deadlines (only if needed).
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
Flexible language requirement:
- French not required
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
