Building Future Leaders Program - Production Supervisor

ELIGIBLE CANDIDATE LOCATIONS: HAWKESBURY, TORONTO, BRAMPTON, GTA - ON

DESCRIPTION:
The Building New Leaders Program is the first of its kind at IKO. We are seeking recent engineering graduates (or similar) to bring into our organization as production shift supervisors, while simultaneously participating in our 24-month Building Future Leaders Program. Through this program, incumbent(s) will collaborate with fellow BFLP members, gain exposure to all facets of the IKO business, tour several IKO manufacturing plants and participate in numerous professional development initiatives, including all 10 modules of IKO’s Supervisor Essentials Program.

While participating in the BFLP, the incumbent will conduct the role of Production Supervisor. The Production Supervisor role will focus on producing a high-quality product by leading employees to maintain a high level of awareness on safety, environmental and process compliance.

Once the 24 months has elapsed and the incumbent has completed the BFLP, they will be eligible to move to other relevant roles within IKO.

When you join us you will:

- Actively participate in BFLP offerings, courses, meetings and other activities.
- Lead a positive change effort to improved performance by motivating, recognizing and inspiring others to be effective and efficient in their activities
- Maintain a high level of awareness on safety, environmental and process compliance
- Champion hazard identification, evaluation and control through the behavior based safety and risk assessment programs
- Lead and direct all production operations for the duration of your shift
- Increase employee engagement and improve the labour relations climate through participation in continuous improvement (get suggestions, report problems, participate in team problem solving sessions)
- Drive accountability for both results and actions of direct reports through education, motivation, documentation and behaviour-based coaching
- Increase operator involvement in maintenance
- Participate in Root cause analysis (5 why, fishbone, etc) with team members, maintenance and engineering
- Continually improve the operational efficiency of the plant
- Work with and support other department goals
- Ensure proper documentation and complete reports (compliance, checklists, production reports, spreadsheets, metrics, incident investigations, etc)
- Facilitate effective meetings and team discussions
- Effectively communicate with all levels both internal and external to the organization
- Job training with STD work description, SOP and WI
- Safety training, STOP. FLRA and all others safety programs
- Resolve any conflict immediately and assure that behavior is in line with IKO values, ask for help if needed
- Ensure a rigorous follow-up of all 5S.
- Must be a new graduate from a Post-Secondary Engineering Program (or equivalent) within the last 24 months.
- Ability to work shift work
- Must be mobile and willing to move to multiple sites (preferred).
- Strong desire to learn and grow professionally.
