We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team to lead our Halifax technology delivery centre as Head of Shared Services.
Key Responsibilities:

- Leadership & Strategy:

- Develop and implement the strategic vision for the strategic delivery centre in Halifax.
- Lead and mentor a team of professionals across a wide variety of technology frameworks.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Operate in a matrix management model with your peer group around the broader Axis landscape.
- Partner and integrate with the nine value streams set up for delivery within BTS:

- North America Intake & Underwriting
- North America Product
- North America Programs Business
- North America Claims
- Global Markets Intake
- Global Markets Policy
- Reinsurance
- Pricing and Risk Management
- Corporate & HR
- Delegated Business
- Document Management Shared Service:

- Manage the document management function to ensure efficient and secure handling of all company documents.
- Implement and maintain document management systems and processes.
- Integrations:

- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of integration solutions.
- User Experience:

- Champion user experience initiatives to enhance the usability and satisfaction of internal and external users.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement user-centric solutions.
- Development Center of Excellence (COE):

- Oversee the Development COE to drive best practices in software development.
- Ensure the adoption of modern development methodologies and tools.**Required Skills**:

- Experienced in architecture of low/no code platforms
- Experience with Azure Integration Services, Functions, Queues, Gateway
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript, YAML, React/Angular, NPM, JWT, OAuth2
- Extensive integration experience with:

- REST APIs
- PAS - Genius/IRIS/Duck Creek/Guidewire/Majesco
- GL and financial systems
- Data warehousing - Snowflake, Databricks
- Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with Unqork
- Experience with MS Dynamics 365
- Knowledge of OpenAI
- Proficiency in MongoDB
- Understanding of GraphQL
- Experience with Python

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a shared services environment.
- Strong technical background with expertise in SRE, document management, integrations, user experience, testing, and software development.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and drive operational excellence.
- Experience in the insurance industry is a plus.
