Applicants are encouraged to self-identify on their electronic application.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Under the direction of the Skating Head Coach, provide instruction of the weekly skating program following the premade lesson plans.Responsible for greeting participants, leading activities, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of participants. To evaluate participants using a standardized assessment tool.To maintain excellent customer service communication with instructors, parents and participants.QUALIFICATIONS:Conditions of Employment: Strong Skating ability and understanding of skating techniques Experience working or volunteering with children and youth in a recreational setting (if applicable)First Aid Certification. Security Clearance Requirements: Applicants may be required to complete an employment security screening check.Please note – Testing may be conducted as a component of the selection process to assess technical and job specific knowledge. Shifts are as follows.Cole Harbour Place: Tuesdays 4:30-7:30PM & Wednesdays 4:00-7:00PMEastern Shore Community Center: Saturdays 1:00PM-2:00PMHalifax Forum: Thursdays 6:30PM-9:30PM & Saturdays 11:AM - 4:00PMSpryfield Lions Rink: Sunday 12:00PM-3:00PMSackville Sports Stadium: Sunday 2:00PM-5:00PMSALARY: Non-Union, $18.70 per hourWORK LOCATION: Cole Harbour Recreation Centre, Eastern Shore Community Centre, Halifax Forum, Spryfield Lions Rink, Sackville Sports Stadium.
