In 1900 The East End Boys Club was founded in Saint John, and would later become the first Boys and Girls Club, and today BGC of Greater Saint John.
In a single year The BGC of Greater Saint John has over 2,200 youth attending programs, has served over 14,120 lunches, given away over $22,000 in scholarships, and wrapped over 800 Christmas gifts

**Job description**
BGC brings out the best potential of every child. Our Clubs offer children a safe, affordable, enriching, and fun place to go after school. We provide challenging activities that encourage healthy living, personal growth, learning, and community involvement. We build self-esteem through supportive adult mentors and engaging activities that challenge and enrich each child’s mind, body, and spirit.
**Certifications**:
- Current _Workplace_ Standard First Aid/CPR (16-hour course);
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Enrolled in or have completed a program that deals with child behavioural management or childhood exceptionalities (i.e. Educational Assistant, Early Childhood Education);
- Experience working with children with exceptionalities;
- Knowledge of strategies designed to promote inclusive environments and programs in childcare;
- _Work_ collaboratively within the after-school childcare team/program to provide an inclusive program for a child with exceptionalities;
**Job Types**: Permanent 20-30 hours/week between the hours of 1 pm and 6 pm, no weekends.
**Salary**: $16.90 per hour
