The Janitorial Operations Manager is responsible for providing leadership to staff teams in assigned locations across the GTA, administering the company’s policies, monitoring service quality and adherence to safety standards, identifying problems, proposing solutions, supervising, coordinating, and ensuring that the work is accomplished as planned. This position ensures that the company meets and exceeds clients’ needs and expectations through ongoing processes of management, quality assurance and quality improvement.

**Essential duties and responsibilities**:

- Manage all employees, sub-contractor, and trade activity for assigned locations and contracts.
- Provide and manage all training requirements - WHMIS, Health, and Safety, etc.
- Provide and demonstrate specific training associated with job descriptions and comprehend and adhere to the scope of work.
- Coach, mentor, support site staff and engage with them on a regular basis.
- Manage par levels for all supplies. Complete and submit new orders according to job site requirements, established par stock, and purchasing policy.
- Assist with the completion of inventories of equipment and supplies for assigned locations and contracts.
- Ensure equipment is operations and adhere to preventative maintenance requirements.
- Recognize and action opportunities that may exist to reduce costs without compromising quality in all aspects of the operation.
- Manage labor, supplies and other operational costs within budget.
- Ensure the cleanliness of assigned job sites relative to established job specifications and standards.
- Complete regular job site visits and inspections to ensure quality of the service product.
- Communicate with site lead hands, personnel, and tenants and immediately resolve any service issues or concerns. Communicate all site issues or complaints to both the Operation Manager and Senior Vice President immediately.
- Bring potential service issues to the attention of the Director of Operations as required.
- Recognize and action opportunities that may exist to improve service quality without increasing costs in all aspects of the operation.
- Ensure all documents, forms, schedules, and memorandums pertaining to the scope of work are implemented and maintained up to date.
- Ensure all staff are in uniform, wearing identification and proper working attire during scheduled working hours.
- Complete workplace inspections on a minimum bi-weekly basis.
- Monitor, evaluate, and manage employee performance to ensure quality of service and maximum productivity.

**Role Requirements & Assets**:

- Minimum 2.5 years of supervisory role in cleaning industry.
- G Driver’s License is in good standing.
- Must possess outstanding knowledge of cleaning processes and floor care procedures/ methodologies
- Possess good English written and verbal communication skills
- Possess excellent customer service, organizational, team working and problem-solving skills
- Be quality and results oriented. Possess a “passion” for the cleaning industry
- Ability to work efficiently with mínimal supervision
- Be flexible regarding work schedules
- Safety conscious work ethic
- Proficiency with computers and programs such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
