Working under the supervision of the Foreman, the Hydrovac Operator will assist in the installation of telecommunication cables and apparatuses to support the project construction team. They will also be responsible for driving various types of vehicles and trucks to transport equipment to project sites.
This role is based out of our yard on Carp Road.
**YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO**:
- Operating the Hydrovac truck while maintaining the vehicle
- Transport cargo and/or equipment in a safe manner
- Use various equipment to move and install material according to project plans
- Complete the daily maintenance programs as per equipment specifications
- Complete Driver’s logbook & daily vehicle inspection (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, accident, or incident reports
**THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES**:
- 2 plus years’ experience driving a Hydrovac truck
- Valid driver's license (DZ license)
- Fully trained in the operations and maintenance of the truck and comfortable trouble shooting and minor repairs in the field
- Comfortable around underground utility services
- Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment
- Operate Hydrovac truck in a safe manner
- Must be able to lift 23 kg (50 lbs.)
- Must provide a good driving record (abstract) and criminal check prior to employment commencing
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Familiarity with CVOR requirements
