Schedule:

- Full-time, 40-hour work week (Monday to Friday).
- Hybrid work model - minimum of 3 days/week onsite at our Calgary Head Office:
700-II, 326 11 Ave SW, Calgary, AB.
- On-call support will required as part of a rotational schedule

Job Details:
**Responsibilities**:

- Administer, monitor, and maintain SQL Server databases to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.
- Support backup and recovery procedures, database replication, and access management.
- Assist in the implementation of database strategies to support resilient and efficient operations.
- Perform regular performance tuning and troubleshooting to resolve issues proactively.
- Support SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS environments for data integration and reporting tasks.
- Work closely with development, operations, and analytics teams to meet data needs.
- Document database configurations, processes, and best practices.
- Participate in projects related to database upgrades, migrations, and cloud adoption.
- Contribute to the maturation of data administration practices in the AWS cloud environments
- Stay informed on industry trends and database technology developments.

Qualifications:

- Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Database Administrator in a SQL Server environment.
- Solid experience with SQL Server, including performance tuning and backup/recovery.
- Hands-on experience with SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
- Familiarity with database replication techniques.
- Experience with Snowflake, MongoDB, and MySQL is an asset.
- Basic understanding of cloud-based database solutions (AWS preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Microsoft or AWS database certifications are considered a plus.
