**Role**:
The Line Hand is responsible for the finished product coming off the haul-off at the end of the extrusion lines. They continually monitor the quality of the product to ensure that the product we produce will meet the quality needs of our clients. In order to minimize plant costs, this vital role is expected to react if they see variation in the product or process that could reduce quality, create scrap or result in an unsafe situation.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform general housekeeping duties in assigned work area (sweeping, clean equipment, tidy tools, etc.)
- Communicate in a courteous and respectful manner to all co-workers.
- Wind pipe onto reels or coil pipe onto coils.
- Use overhead crane to safely lift coils and reels.
- Package coils and reels, including using a capping iron for air testing when required.
- Use metric / imperial micrometer and OD tapes.
- Record pipe specifications from pipe samples into production sheets
- Verify that correct date, line # and reel # are being used in the print string.
- Monitor print quality
- Follow instructions from Setup to safely start, stop, open and close haul-off.
- Cut scrap pipe into lengths and store as directed.
- Report all accidents / incidents to the shift Setup personnel immediately.
- Report all safety violations or hazards to the shift Setup or Health & Safety personnel immediately.
- Complete all duties that are delegated from Setup or Shift Leader

The position is shift work as the plant runs 24/7

Days - 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Nights 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM

There 7 shifts over 14 days - 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off (shift rotates every 28 days)

Bi-weekly payroll

**Salary**: $18.00 per hour
