**The Role**

This position is responsible for contributing to the Paradigm Quest collections team. As a member of the Collections team, you will provide excellent customer service while collecting on delinquent accounts and determining the most effective method of bringing the account up to date.
**Accountabilities (include, but not limited to the following)**:

- Contacts or attempts to locate more difficult collection accounts and handles customer escalated concerns
- Reviews and analyses accounts as presented to determine the most effective method of bringing the account up-to-date and protecting our client’s assets
- Identifies potential loan development customers for our client
- Maintains a high level of product knowledge to provide professional, courteous financial counsel for customers in difficult financial situations
- Identify and escalating potential loss mitigation accounts
- Handle payout shortfalls
- Handle unpaid bridge loans by following up with law firm
- Tax arrears Tracking
- Resolve cancelled property insurance
- Issue collection letters
- Answer Collections inbound calls
- Make Collections outbound calls
- Handle multiple priorities in an ever-changing work environment
- Adapt to the changing priorities of a fast-paced work environment
- Fulfill customer expectations while complying with policies, practices, and procedures
- Contribute to the overall success of Paradigm Quest team, as well as work independently to achieve specified targets.

**What You Bring To The Team**
- Canadian Banking experience or other Financial Services experience (mortgage industry) is considered an asset
- 2+ years’ experience as a Collections Agent
- 2+ years in a Call Centre environment
- Mortgage industry experience considered an asset
- Previous office/customer service experience considered an asset.
- Clear understanding of Mortgage Operations and Life Cycle
- Bilingual in French and English both written and verbal
- Knowledge of federal and provincial legislation regarding collections of mortgages is an asset
- Working knowledge of legal mortgage documents considered an asset
- Possess solid Microsoft Word, Excel, and computer skills
- Strong negotiations skills
- Excellent verbal, and written communication skills with all levels of the organization.
- Proven diplomacy, tact, decision making and negotiation skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels within the organization.
- Ability to pull resources together to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse work group.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Carries out duties with integrity and takes responsibility for actions.
- Strong work ethic.

- Ability to discuss and diffuse escalations with both internal and external customers either in writing or verbally
- College Diploma or University Degree in Business or equivalent experience
- Possess solid MS Office/Computer skills
