Job Title: Liquor Store** **Sales Associate Employment Type: Full Time/Part Time All the advantages of working for a larger, stable, company, but with all the energy and fun that comes with a smaller operation Located in the heart of downtown Victoria the Strath Ale Wine and Spirit Merchants is looking for a sales associate to join our team of knowledgeable liquor industry professionals. We are currently looking for enthusiastic people to hire at all levels. Part time and Full-time positions are available, with compensation packages ranging from $16.50-$21 per hour, depending on experience. In the store we foster a knowledge-based environment, offering top-notch product information to our varied clientele. Duties include but not limited to: - providing an outstanding shopping experience by exceeding our customer's needs and expectations - maintaining product knowledge - respond to customer inquiries - providing recommendations to meet customer needs and upselling to increase sales - cashier functions, processing timely and accurate customer purchase transactions (in-store and on the webstore) - adhering to all company policies and legal requirements - ensuring stock levels are maintained - restocking and rotating product inventory - other operational responsibilities as experience dictates Requirements and Qualifications - Valid Serving it Right Certificate, required - Top-notch customer service skills - Knowledge of wine/beer/spirits, and a strong desire to learn - Previous liquor store or retail experience is an asset - must be able to lift 40lbs and stand for long periods of time - proof of vaccination status required What we offer: - Flexible work schedule - 50% off your food at the Sticky Wicket Pub and Restaurant while you are working and or while you are visiting as a guest - Health and dental benefits - Subsidized gym pass - Opportunity to attend free shows and events - Fun work environment and opportunities for development and career advancement **REQUIREMENTS**: - Valid Serving it Right Certificate, required - demonstrated knowledge and passion for wine, beer, spirits - must be able to lift 40lbs and stand for long periods of time Located in the heart of Victoria BC, the Strathcona Hotel is a stunning Victorian landmark that dates back to the historic gold rush area of the region.
