Job Title: Liquor StoreSales Associate

Employment Type: Part Time/Full Time

Located in the heart of downtown Victoria the Strath Liquor Merchants is looking for a sales associate to join our team of knowledgeable liquor industry professionals. We are currently looking for enthusiastic people to hire at all levels. Part time positions are available with the ability to reach Full-time hours; all with compensation packages ranging from $19-$23 per hour, depending on experience. In the store we foster a knowledge-based environment, striving to offer top-notch product information to our varied clientele. Our unique selection of products range from top-shelf Scotch whisky to locally produced craft beers - and every niche in between

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • providing an outstanding shopping experience by exceeding our customer's needs and expectations
  • maintaining product knowledge
  • responding to customer inquiries
  • providing recommendations to meet customer needs and upselling to increase sales
  • cashier functions, processing timely and accurate customer purchase transactions (in-store and on the webstore)
  • adhering to all company policies and legal requirements
  • ensuring stock levels are maintained - restocking and rotating product inventory
  • other operational responsibilities as experience dictates

REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid Serving it Right Certificate, required
  • Knowledge of wine/beer/spirits, and a strong desire to learn
  • must be able to lift 40lbs and stand for long periods of time
  • Top-notch customer service skills
  • Previous liquor store or retail experience is an asset

Located in the heart of Victoria BC, the Strathcona Hotel is a stunning Victorian landmark that dates back to the historic gold rush area of the region. The Strathcona hotel is family owned and operated and has a long history of being "Victoria's Entertainment Center".
