Tissue Culture Lab Technician

The Tissue Culture Technician will prepare plant media (Gels), cut and transfer plants to fresh medium, multiplication, employing sterile technique, capturing data for production-related activities, maintaining a clean work space, monitor lab supplies, and other lab maintenance duties.

**Essential Duties**:
Work in the Tissue Culture Laboratory to produce high quality in vitro plants.

Preparation of Plant Media (Gels).

Cut and transfer plants to fresh medium using sterile technique.

Efficiently manipulate plants using delicate hand tools and aseptic technique (sterile conditions).

Sample plants for viruses and other diseases

Capture data for inventory management and KPI's

Meet KPI's as set by management

Maintain safe, clean, sterile equipment and facility

Prepare supplies needed for daily tasks.

Set up and operate standard lab equipment.

Other duties as directed.

**Skills & Abilities**:
Highschool diploma or GED. Degree, advanced training, or courses in biological sciences, or 1 year of related working experience, preferred.

High attention to detail and the ability to recognize and observe small deviations.

Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills (hands).

The ability to read, communicate, and follow detailed instructions.

Ability to sit for long periods of time and wear PPE (lab coat, face masks, gloves, etc.) all day.

The ability to work in a clean room environment with limited access to the outdoors.

Must have own transportation, location not accessible by public transit.

**Salary**: $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Work Location: One location
