**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Employer Services Team Lead, the Co-op Employer Services Assistant is responsible for the full life-cycle of co-op work term recruitment activities.

They work within a designated co-operative education program portfolio to provide the following services to employers and students:

- Advising employers on how to post jobs on CUHire or posting job descriptions for the employers;
- Forwarding resumes to the employer;
- Scheduling interviews;
- Conducting follow up on interviews and job postings with employers;
- Presenting job offers to students;
- Confirming placements to both employers and students;
- Creating and updating student and employer files;
- Providing employers with recommendations on which co-op programs are suitable for their positions;
- Providing advice and guidance to employers throughout the recruitment process and making a referral to the program Business Development Coordinator for follow up with new employers for the purpose of job development;
- Liaise with program Business Development Coordinator and Co-op Student Advisor to ensure that all parties are kept up to date on issues as they arise;
- Liaise with the program Business Development Coordinator and Co-op Student Advisor to ensure they is current on the skill sets that the students can offer to the co-op employers;
- Updating the database as required with relevant information to the recruitment process;
- Updating reports on an as-needed and on-going basis.

**Qualifications**:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

- Thorough knowledge of database software (e.g. Microsoft Access) in order to maintain the co-op student database accurately.
- Ability to work independently and judgment to seek assistance from the Employer Services Team Lead is required.
- Excellent communication skills and inter-personal skills to facilitate the co-op recruitment process and deal effectively with student and employer clients.
- Knowledge of the University structure and regulations in particular as they pertain to co-operative education programs (co-op admission, employment, continuation requirements).
- Excellent time management skills and very strong organizational skills are essential in this position.

**Education and Experience**:
The above is normally acquired through the completion of:

- Three years of post-secondary study.
- Three years related experience, one year of which should be in an academic environment with one to two years of recruiting experience

**Assets**:

- Prior experience with co-op placement
- Knowledge of French
