Refer to the "How to apply" section if you require a disability-related accommodation. **What can I expect to do in this role?**: To lead and manage a team of technical specialists including OPP fixed wing and helicopter pilots both uniform and civilian. To provide flight coordination services ranging from personnel transport, tactical surveillance, search and rescue and aerial reconnaissance, that meet flying requirements of a range of ministry/government programs. To monitor government aviation activity, including tracking of all non-scheduled Ontario government air transportation. To manage the ministry aviation safety program, promote aviation safety, and to develop and implement policy, procedures and safety assurance standards for aircraft and commercial charters used by the government. To provide advice to senior management regarding the safe and cost effective delivery of quality aviation services, and to support Ministry customer service, cross ministry integration initiatives and partnering. **How do I qualify?**: **Mandatory**: Ability to pass an OPP background security investigation. **Knowledge/Understanding of**: Financial, administrative and procurement policies and directives to plan and manage fiscal and material resources. This includes reviewing and approving budgets, managing facilities, assets, and contract service providers, leading long range fiscal planning, providing regular financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial protocols, audit principles, directives and guidelines. Aviation service/program delivery frameworks, in conjunction with program planning, development, and management principles, to plan, manage, and deliver flight coordination and aviation safety services that meet flying requirements of a range of ministry/government programs, to participate in strategic business planning, and operational policy development, to develop standards, strategies, promotional material, and staff training content, and specific policy, procedures, and operational guidelines to ensure that commercial charters meet all operating requirements, and to undertake projects that contribute to the improvement of the aviation services program. Federal air regulations including the Aeronautics Act, Canadian Aviation Regulations, Commercial Air Services Standards Canada Air Pilot, and Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, ministry operations and maintenance control manuals, aircraft air operations and ministry requisitioning policy, safety principles, practices to ensure that all commercial charters meet all operating requirements, in accordance with aviation policies, ministry air operation and maintenance control policy and procedures, and aircraft requisitioning policies.
