Dogwood Ltd. in Surrey, BC has an opening for a **Service Supervisor **to supervise our in-house service technicians, managing subcontractors, scheduling service work and projects, and ensuring the ordering of materials and equipment.
Dogwood Ltd. provides commercial renovations and facilities maintenance to renowned commercial clients in the retail and food industry, pharma, restaurants, gas stations and financial sector.
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Create work schedules for in-house BC service technicians.
- Responsible for scheduling jobs using subcontractors.
- Supervise technicians, monitor their day-to-day performance, and track their time for payroll.
- Ensure technicians work safely as per WCB standards and Dogwood’s health & safety policy.
- Support and motivate the technicians’ team to consistently meet deadlines and standards of quality within budget.
- Identify areas of improvement and address any work-related concerns directly with technicians.
- Escalate any major issues with technicians to management and/or HR.
- Responsible for communicating all relevant information between clients and technicians.
- Responsible for creating new client accounts in database.
- Communicate effectively with clients and all team members.
- Track service work and small projects from start to finish.
- Responsible for ordering materials and supplies for service work and for small to medium size projects.
- Responsible for calculating time and materials on workorders and preparing them for invoicing.
- Responsible for scheduling repairs and maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Provide coverage for other service supervisors during periods of short-term absences, such as vacation, sick times, etc., depending on available capacity.
- General administrative tasks.
- Share on-call responsibility according to the established rotation schedule.
**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Handle new technician orientations in collaboration with Operations Manager and HR
- Provide supervision, guidance and mentorship to the technicians’ team
- Provide input for technicians' performance evaluations
**QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS**:
**Required Experience**:
- 5 years of dispatching experience as a coordinator within the construction or trades industry
- 2+ years of supervisory responsibilities
**Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Strong communication skills - written and verbal
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to solve problems efficiently
- Knowledge of Salesforce is considered an asset
