**OVERVIEW**:
This is a rare opportunity to join the founding team undertaking a revitalization of Base31, a new 70-acre cultural tourism destination under development as part of a larger 700-acre site in Picton, Ontario. The Food and Beverage Community Lead will play a vital role in site activation and attraction through launching innovative food and beverage programming and initiatives. This individual will be entrepreneurial, have experience in the Food and Beverage industry, and have a passion for delivering exceptional service and culinary experiences. They will have the ability to generate an immediate connection with guests and various stakeholders, and have a relentless focus on execution and identifying business opportunities.

**REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS**:
Reports to: Food and Beverage Manager

**JOB SUMMARY**

The Food and Beverage Community Lead will be responsible for supporting the execution of the Base31 Food and Beverage program. A primary focus will be on launching, supporting and growing the Base31 F&B Entrepreneurship Program, as well as activating and coordinating the usage of the on-site catering kitchen, commercial kitchen, and various communal cooking and dining spaces. This role will support the growth and accessibility of F&B programming to the greater community, the collaboration with industry professionals, academic institutions, community organizations, local food and beverage businesses and entrepreneurs. This position will report to the Food and Beverage Manager and will work closely with the Base31 departments including Capital Projects, Properties, Placemaking & Visitor Experience, Programming, Marketing and Communications, and Finance. This role is fast paced and entrepreneurial, execution focused, requires deep attention to detail, and necessitates constant collaboration and coordination with both the internal team and external parties.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Support the development and execution of the Base31 Food and Beverage strategy, goals and programs.
- Support the launch of Base31 as a Food and Beverage destination and culinary tourism attraction.
- Directly support the Base31 Entrepreneurship Program, its participants and related stakeholders.
- Effectively work to enhance the presence and prestige of the Entrepreneurship Program across the region.
- Coordinate and manage various on-site communal kitchens and dining spaces to ensure smooth, optimal usage, service of the highest level, and maximize revenue opportunities.
- Identify and work swiftly to explore and execute revenue generating opportunities.
- Coordinate and liaise with industry professionals, community organizations and local businesses on facility and venue rentals and experiences.
- Support food sales at various F&B retail outlets and programs including concessions and mobile food carts.
- Build and nurture relationships with the Prince Edward County food and beverage business community, community members and organizations, guests, vendors, team members and all external stakeholders.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Strong entrepreneurial acumen with a track record of building and working in successful food and beverage businesses.
- 5+ years experience in the food and beverage industry with strong knowledge of front and back of house operations.
- Deep understanding of Prince Edward County’s food and beverage landscape, and culinary tourism.
- Strong collaboration skills and a track record in building shared interest and value.
- Experience working cross collaboratively with various departments and stakeholders.
- Ability to implement and execute sales strategies.
- Strong people management skills with experience building a people first culture and promoting equity diversity and inclusion.
- Presentation, coordination and analytical skills.
- Established relationships with local businesses and the Prince Edward County Food and Beverage community.
