Assistant Superintendent

**Position Title**: Assistant Superintendent

**Term**: Fulltime

**Location**: Lower Mainland (Site Location)

**Availability**: Monday-Friday with overtime (Weekends Availability)

**Roles and Responsibilities**:
1. Assist in scheduling subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion.

2. Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.

3. Communicate and assist Superintendent in coordinating with the project team regarding ASI/s, RFI's, and Material Submittals.

4. Coordinate the procurement and delivery of site material, in relation to critical path for the project.

5. Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with his contracted scope of work.

6. Assist in coordinating required inspections with local jurisdictions, and consultants.

7. Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.

8. Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.

9. Ensure subcontractor has corrected all deficiencies identified by project team.

10. Walk all units on project daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning.

11. Attend or preside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work.

12. Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.

13. Perform Job progress and completion punch list identification and completion. (Deficiency lists)

14. Coordinate homeowner unit specifications with marketing staff/ownership before and after occupancy to ensure deficiencies are completed.

15. Coordinate the opening of the jobsite at beginning of the day and securing the jobsite at the end of the day, and coordinate site security.

**Requirements/Qualifications**:
1. Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in the construction industry.

2. Proven history of scheduling construction activities and consistently completing projects on time, on budget, and to the client’s satisfaction.

3. A bachelor’s degree is preferred or high school diploma or equivalent associate degree/ vocational school program in construction-related field.

4. Exceptionally responsible with strong communication and organizational skills

5. Ability to oversee construction sites to ensure projects are completed smoothly and safely

6. Meet client and customer expectations

7. Be able to multitask and build positive relationships with clients and crew members

- Lower Mainland, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Construction Industry: 5 years (preferred)
- scheduling construction activities: 4 years (preferred)
- Reading construction drawings: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driver's license (preferred)
