Construction Superintendent

**Position Title**: Superintendent

**Term**: Fulltime

**Location**: Lower Mainland (Site Location)

**Availability**: Monday-Friday with overtime (Weekends Availability)

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion.
- Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
- Communicate with project team regarding Material Submittals and other related information
- Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with his contracted scope of work.
- Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
- Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
- Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
- Maintain daily log of activities on the jobsite.
- Perform Superintendent duties at multiple job sites, simultaneously.
- Ensure subcontractor has corrected all deficiencies identified by project team.
- Walk all units on project daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning.
- Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work.
- Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors in regards to quality of work or scheduling.
- Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
- Perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion.

**Requirements/Qualifications**:

- 5+ years of construction and supervision experience construction industry
- Professional Engineering accreditation, education or experience is a strong asset.
- Driver’s license required
- Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
- Demonstrated competence in the areas of safety, people management, project execution, cost control, quality and administration.
- Sound knowledge of construction and building techniques and the ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications.
- Proactive problem-solver who can manage difficult situations with positive results.
- Good computer skills - MS Office.

**Salary**: From $35.00 per hour

- Lower Mainland, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Construction Industry: 5 years (preferred)
- scheduling construction activities: 5 years (preferred)
- Reading construction drawings: 4 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driver's license (preferred)
