T800 Laminator Machine Operator

The T800 Laminator Machine Operator applies plastic coating to job components including covers and dust jackets. The T800 Laminator Machine Operator is responsible to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Laminator to produce a high-quality product to the prescribed quantity. Other responsibilities include troubleshooting basic machine performance, making adjustments and calling for additional resources as required and cleaning the machine.

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday & Saturday, 6 AM - 6 PM
Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, 6 AM - 6 PM

**Job Requirements**:

- High School Diploma/GED/Mature Student Diploma
- Machine operation experience
- Basic machine troubleshooting and maintenance experience
- Forklift experience an asset
- Effective English use and comprehension
- Digital Literacy (Microsoft Office, keyboarding skills)
- Essential Math skills (Metric and Imperial measurements, problem-solving, conversion charts, etc.)
- Effective use of production-related documents to accomplish job tasks
- Ability to detect, isolate, and identify irregularities and malfunctions in machinery, equipment, product
- Demonstrated organization, prioritizing, time and stress management skills
- Able to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Ability to operate and use small tools
- Continuous learning/improvement mindset
- Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment while demonstrating self-management capabilities
- Able to deal with people diplomatically and profession ally at all times
- Excellent manual dexterity
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts
- Must be willing to work at all Friesens facilities as needed
- Knowledge of workplace safety, safe lifting and handling procedures

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Work and communicate effectively with the Managers and co-workers
- Carry out jobs according to the schedule or as directed by the Production Manager
- Manage the laminator operation for quality, efficiency and productivity
- Understand the job requirements from information on the docket and other sources
- Request and arrange the components of the job in advance
- Set up the laminator as required
- Run samples making necessary adjustments
- Run job to the required quantities
- Perform periodic visual checks
- Stack product neatly onto skids and identify finished lifts with accurate counts
- Arrange for finished component storage
- Return docket
- Performa laminator maintenance as described in the T800 Laminator Machine Maintenance Binder and the Operator’s Manual
- Practice Friesens safety procedures for equipment and plant situations
- Other duties as assigned by the Production or Operations Manager

**Education**: Required
- High School Diploma or better

**Licenses & Certifications**: Preferred
- Class2: Easi-Reach Truck
