**Job Description**:
Reporting to the Director, Facilities, this position is responsible for the management and administration of various Facilities Services which include: the Universal Transit Pass Program (UPASS) for Langara College, sustainable transportation, pay parking contract services, janitorial contract services, waste management, recycling program, external room rentals, event set-ups, and shipping and receiving. This position plans and implements Facilities Services provided to the College community ensuring compliance with College policies and procedures. This position is the Budget Officer for Facilities Services and U-pass BC Services and Programs. This position is responsible for human resources management including supervision, evaluating, and staffing decisions for its direct and indirect reports.

Qualifications Required:
Education
- A relevant bachelor's degree in business administration, technology, or operations management, including coursework in facilities management.
- Over five (5) years of relevant experience in the management of building services for large public facilities, preferably within a post-secondary institution or a comparable public sector organization.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Managerial experience in a complex unionized environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of current business technology and practices including budgetary development, accounting, financial management and administration processes.
- Demonstrated managerial experience in a diverse range of facilities services and maintenance routines.
- Knowledge of WHMIS, workplace health and safety regulations and guidelines.
- Experience using Ellucian Banner, an asset.

- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all College personnel, contractors and external service providers.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritise tasks at hand and effectively work under pressure.
- Ability to exercise a high level of initiative and responsibility.
- Ability to use tact and discretion to deal with or settle complex requests or complaints.
- Ability to be self-directed and work independently.
- Ability to supervise contractors.
- Ability to supervise, plan, schedule, and evaluate the work of employees.
- Ability to provide effective leadership and foster a cooperative work environment.
- Must a proactive, well-organized, energetic team player.

Compensation beyond the mid-point requires approval by the Public Sector Employers’ Council Secretariat (PSEC).
