The Ministry of Energy and Minerals is responsible for sustaining the interests of Albertans through the stewardship and responsible development of energy and mineral resource systems.

The Royalty Operations branch is responsible for accurate and timely calculation, assessment, collection and reconciliation of natural gas and conventional oil royalty. The branch is one of the primary drivers of revenue within the department, fostering relationships with the natural gas and oil industry, providing exceptional client service to ensure reporting for royalty purposes is accurate and in compliance with legislation and business rules.

**Role Responsibilities**:
Alberta Energy and Minerals has an available opportunity for an experienced individual looking to work within the world of Royalty Operations.

Due to the changing nature of industry business, Royalty Operation’s work environment promotes teamwork and flexibility. Gas Royalty Operations is looking for a detail oriented and motivated individual to fill the role of Operational Analyst (Royalty Administraton). With your keen eye for details; your outstanding interpersonal skills; and your analytical and problem solving skills; you will be a valuable part of a team that contributes to the accurate assessment, levy and collection of natural gas Crown royalties for production in Alberta.

The Gas Royalty Operations unit is looking for one (1) Operational Analyst (Royalty Administraton) responsible for:

- Providing quality client services to stakeholders and advising on interpretation of the Alberta Natural Gas Royalty Guidelines (Guidelines), policies, Natural Gas Royalty Regulations (NGRR), and Mines and Minerals Act (MMA).
- Researching, investigating, analyzing and proposing recommendations on emerging issues and projects or answering complex issues or questions raised by internal or external stakeholders affecting Crown royalty reporting, calculation and assessment to ensure reporting for royalty purposes is accurate and in compliance.
- Using organization, multitasking and prioritizing skills to ensure to meet multiple deadlines.
- Assisting in the verification of the natural gas royalty invoice prior to releasing to industry to ensure the calculation of royalties is accurate.
- Working as an individual or within project teams to ensure operational and business requirements are met.
- Assisting the Team Leads in organizing team business activities to ensure that goals and objectives are achieved in an efficient and innovative manner.
- Assisting the Team Lead in ensuring business and system processes comply with internal controls, to optimize efficiency and effectiveness of operations, to achieve Branch and Department goals.
