**Reports to**: Program Manager, Preschool Speech & Language Services

The George Hull Centre is a leading Children’s Mental Health Centre providing a full continuum of services to children from infancy to 18 and their families in Etobicoke. Join our dynamic and collaborative team in Prevention and Early Intervention Services where we work together to support families and ensure the healthy social and emotional development of young children.

The Centre is currently seeking a detail-oriented Intake Worker to support the intake and administrative operations of the Preschool Speech & Language Program. This role ensures accurate intake processing, triages referrals appropriately, and provides information to families and professionals about the program and community services.

The Intake Worker will handle incoming calls and referrals, guiding clients and professionals through the program and relevant resources. They will support the PSL team and execute administrative tasks under the direction of the Program Manager.

**Duties include but are not limited to**:

- Intake & Client Registration:

- Process all incoming intakes and transfers to the program, ensuring all required information is complete.
- Monitor waitlists and referrals
- Client Services & Communication:

- Contact families to Initiate service and invite to initial appointment.
- Provide information about service and wait times to families
- Coordinate the provision of required support services for families such as interpretation etc.
- Data & Information Management
- Maintain accurate records in the electronic client record system.
- Verify and support monthly staff data submission
- Collect regular service statistics for the program.
- Administrative Support
- Support the general administrative needs of the program and the Program Manager
- Manage and update the on-line client booking system
- Support the on-boarding of new staff in the program.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Two years of relevant work experience in an administrative or intake role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively with people who are upset or in distress.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple or competing demands on their time.
- High degree of initiative and ability to be self-directed in completing the necessary duties.
- Demonstrated tact, diplomacy, problem-solving and client service skills
- Experience working with an electronic client record system such as TREAT is an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge of community resources and services and an ability to work effectively with a wide range of clients, professionals and services
- Experience working in an administrative or intake role within a community service organization is desirable
- Experience communicating with those who speak English as a second language or communicating via Interpreter with those who do not speak English at all is desired.

**Hours of Work**:

- 36.25 hours per week; ability to work flexible hours on occasion.

**Working Environment**:

- Hybrid model, with a minimum of three days per week on-site.
