Sous la responsabilité de la Direction des Services spécialisés, le/la technicien(ne) en loisirs et récréologie intervient toujours en fonction des principes de la promotion de la santé et des déterminants de la santé. Il/elle offre un service de soutien et d’intervention aux enfants francophones d’âge préscolaire et scolaire et à leurs parents, et participe au développement sain et équilibré des enfants dans leur famille et dans la communauté.
Responsabilités:
- Assurer la planification et l'organisation d'activités visant le développement physique, social et émotif de l'enfant et qui encouragent l'interaction parent-enfant
- Préparer et animer des activités physiques pour les différents groupes ciblés ainsi que des activités physiques dans les garderies et les écoles de la région
- Évaluer les besoins des enfants présentant des exigences spéciales et établir des programmes et services en conséquence
- Offrir des informations aux parents au sujet du développement sain de l’enfant
- Préparer et animer des ateliers à l’intention des familles
- Aider à préparer le matériel promotionnel ainsi que les statistiques
- Organiser des travaux pour les bénévoles et superviser au besoin les bénévoles, les stagiaires et les étudiant(e)s
- Établir les liens avec les organismes et groupes communautaires et participer aux initiatives communautaires visant l’amélioration de la qualité de vie des enfants
- Préparer les collations lors des activités de groupe et assurer la salubrité des locaux
- Maintenir des liens de travail et de consultation étroits avec les pairs et autres professionnels de la santé
- Participer aux réunions internes et externes
Formation et exigences spécifiques:
- Posséder un diplôme d’études postsecondaires dans une des disciplines des sciences de la santé, en service social, éducation de la petite enfance ou techniques d’intervention en loisirs et récréologie, OU posséder une expérience de travail et formation équivalentes
- Connaissance des programmes pour la Jeunesse de l’Ontario
- Excellente aptitude en communication et relations interpersonnelles et expérience en animation de groupes
- Sensibilité aux besoins des familles de diversité ethnoculturelle et socio-économique
- Disponibilité à travailler des heures flexibles pouvant inclure samedis et soirées
- Excellente maîtrise du français oral et écrit, et bonne maîtrise de l’anglais oral et écrit
- Bonne connaissance des logiciels MS Office
- Posséder un permis de conduire valide et avoir accès à un véhicule automobile

Under the responsibility of the Specialized Services Director, the Recreation and Leisure Technician will always work in accordance with the principles of health promotion and the determinants of health. He/she provides support and intervention services to Francophone preschool and school-age children and their parents, and participates in the healthy and balanced development of children in their families and in the community.
Responsabilities:
- Ensure the planning and organization of activities aimed at the physical, social and emotional development of the child and that encourage parent-child interaction
- Prepare and facilitate physical activities for the different target groups as well as physical activities in daycares and schools in the region
- Assess the needs of children with special requirements and develop programs and services accordingly
- Provide information to parents about healthy child development
- Prepare and facilitate workshops for families
- Assist in the preparation of promotional materials and statistics
- Organize volunteer assignments and supervise volunteers, interns and students as required
- Establish links with community groups and organizations and participate in community initiatives that aim to improve the quality of life of children
- Prepare snacks for group activities and ensure the sanitation of the premises
- Maintain close working and consultative relationships with peers and other health professionals
- Participate in internal and external meetings
Education and Specific Requirements:
- Post-secondary degree in one of the following disciplines: health sciences, social work, early childhood education or recreation and leisure intervention techniques, OR equivalent work experience and training
