Reporting to Administrator of the Extended Care Unit/Interim Long-Term Care, the Programs and Services Manager will provide leadership and support to the Long-Term Care Home to continue to achieve extraordinary caring for resident and families. The LTCH is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed, innovation and collaborative leader who will ensure quality resident care, leadership, co-ordination, directing, monitoring, auditing, and measuring outcomes related to resident care activities in ECU/ILTC. Duties include program development and support while maintaining financial accountability. Provide leadership and support to advance the professional practice of the interdisciplinary health care team, while continuously evaluating the results. Ensuring compliance to the Long-Term Care Act and Regulations, utilizing the results to initiate quality improvement initiatives. Collaborate with internal and external partners and resources to enhance the quality of life for all resident and staff in the home. Chair multiple interdisciplinary committees and an active member of all required programs i.e.: Responsive Behaviours, quality improvement projects.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, or other related field.
- At least 2 years recent experience in a Long Term Care or Hospital setting required.
- 2 to 3 years of managerial/leadership experience, or equivalent combination of education/training and preferred.
- Demonstrated superior interpersonal and leadership skills including but not limited to; critical thinking, communication, responsiveness, conflict resolution, change management, people management, visionary thinking, customer service, and problem solving.
- Ability to align the ECU/ILTC program goals with NH Corporate Strategy, and NH Corporate Mission & Values.
- Ability to build and lead a cohesive team, through engagement, transparency, respect and responsiveness.
- Demonstrated commitment to an exceptional resident experience including access, flow, quality and resident satisfaction.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, interpret data and utilize information in order to make effective financial decisions.
- Experience in the analysis and utilization of data to drive continuous quality improvement preferred.
- Experience in the management of risk and safety for residents and staff.
- Proven experience in building external and community partnerships.
- Working knowledge of the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021, regulated legislation, labour agreements, hospital policies/ procedures.
- Project Management, Leadership, Healthcare Finance, LEAN or other related certification(s) will be an asset
- Committed to excellence in all elements of professional practice, including excellence in patient care processes, measuring outcomes, collaboration, and professional growth through education and research utilization.
- Demonstrated conflict resolution and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a large/diversified workload with rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines
Demonstrated ability to monitor, facilitate, and evaluate therapeutic programs in accordance with Therapeutic Recreation Ontario (TRO) standards of practice and service delivery model.
- Demonstrated ability to form sustainable linkages with community services, agencies and programs.
- Evidence of effective customer service, judgment, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
- Food Handlers Certificate required.
- CPR certification
- Consistent and regular attendance required
- Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
