**Summary**

Elizabeth Fry Toronto’s Record Suspension Program is to ensure women and gender diverse people, who are eligible for a record suspension, secure the suspension in a timely and supportive manner; addressing emerging related needs such as financial barriers, trauma, and the need for peer support or accompaniment support.

The Record Suspension Counsellor position is responsible for the development, administration and evaluation of the Record Suspension Program. The incumbent will adhere to the agency’s values and service standards as well as program delivery and evaluation frameworks. Using a trauma-informed and harm reduction model of program delivery, the Record Suspension Counsellor will ensure that participants accessing the program are provided a warm, safe environment that fosters self-determination, healing, and growth. The incumbent will demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, initiative, collaboration, and solutions-oriented approach in the delivery of the program. This dynamic position reports directly to the Manager of Community Outreach & Employment Support. Working within the mandated protocols, the Record Suspension Counsellor will be required to fulfill the following core duties:
**Program Coordination**
- Conducts intake and assessment with eligible clients accessing record suspension program.
- Case manages at least 30 clients in Year 1, and 130 clients per year between Years 2-4 in record suspension navigation.
- Develops detailed plan for each client to follow through on the nine steps, match client with a suitable volunteer/staff and conduct regular check-ins.
- Connects clients for other wraparound supports as needed, either internally or to another local agency.
- Offers 12 information sessions (in person/virtual) per year to engage clients in the program.
- Facilitates 4 support groups per year through a trauma informed approach.
- Coordinates and actively participates in monthly meetings and action items with program partners and evaluators.
- Develops, follows and adjusts annual work plans in consultation with Program Manager.
- Identifies and provides referrals to resources to current and former program participants as needed.
- Supports with obtaining necessary Court documents and records of proceedings.
- Supports during liaisons with police services, Court officials, RCMP, and Parole Board of Canada.

**Community Outreach & Engagement**
- Outreaches to local organizations to inform them of the program and to encourage referrals.
- Assists with identifying formal and informal partnerships and networks with local community agencies, and relevant service providers.
- Partner with Communications & Fundraising Coordinator to market program effectively through print and online channels including social media.
- Partner with Communications & Fundraising Coordinator to develop and distribute promotional materials as well as monthly program newsletter in print and/or online formats.
- Promotes program by participating in relevant community events and offering in person and/or online presentations/information sessions as required.

**Program Administration**
- Maintain participant files and correspondence according to agency and funder requirements and guidelines.
- Enter program and participant data accurately and completely utilizing the agency’s existing data management system(s).
- Maintain program statistics including client notes/reports, statistical data, exits/closures, follow-up information, client feedback and standardized program forms, and other reporting data as required by program manager, partners and funders
- Coordinate and track provision of program supplies with participants and partners.
- Write progress and completion reports on quarterly basis including participant testimonials and success stories.
- Coordinate logistics of in person and/or online program sessions including space booking, food, transportation, technology needs etc.

**Other**
- Participate on internal and external committees, sharing information, identifying goals and resolving problems.
- Participate in on going professional development and assist in the orientation and training of new staff, students, peers and volunteers.
