**Job Title: Road Base Foreman**

**Job purpose**

Coordinate base operations and oversee employees at construction sites. The Foremen will be the point of contact for employees, clients and management and is responsible for competent completion of each assigned project.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Ensuring the safety of crew members and the public
- Measure and order materials for daily requirements
- Maintain time and material records necessary to complete daily job costing
- Schedule equipment and manpower needs with management
- Directly supervise, educate, and train employees.
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures
- Adhere to all company policies and provincial regulations for safe working procedures and environment
- Perform daily field level hazard assessments in compliance with company policies
- Knowledge and experience for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of base equipment
- Operate grader and control the grades as per design of the road

**Job Requirements**:

- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a road base foreman.
- Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license.
- Thorough understanding of the construction industry including the knowledge to read and understand construction drawings.
- Must be able to run grader, excavator, dozer and all base equipment
- Must have knowledge of compaction processes and requirements.
- Display a professional and courteous approach with co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
- Must be physically fit - repetitive bending, lifting, kneeling, walking for long periods of time.
- Problem-solving skills, timeliness, and pride in your work product are essential for success in this position.
- Working in inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
- Required to work out of town at times.
- Punctual and able to work full time, overtime, and weekends.

**Salary**: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
