At Sinai Health, we care, create possibilities and offer hope. We are looking for an experienced **Clinic Assistant** to support our Family Medicine team at Mount Sinai Hospital.

The primary purpose of this position is to assist clinical staff with patient flow, document patient activities electronically and assist in minor clinical procedures as an integral part of the Family Health Team.

**Responsibilities**
- To define and develop a culture and interprofessional primary health care practice model to enhance the delivery of patient-centered care within an academic environment in the Mount Sinai community.
- Escort patients through clinical space and assist with patient preparation for visits.
- Monitor patient flow to facilitate optimal practice efficiency.
- Collect basic vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, height, weight and body mass index and document information in patient's electronic medical record.
- Perform basic tests such as visual acuity and urine dip tests and document results in patient's electronic medical record.
- Assist clinical staff with minor procedures (e.g., pap tests, surgical procedures etc.).
- Prepare medical equipment and exam rooms for patient visits as per infection control procedures.
- Order and restock supplies and equipment (for the Family Health Team).
- Prepare used medical equipment/instruments for sterile processing as per protocol.
- Maintain general tidiness of unit.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
- Successful completion of relevant post-secondary courses preferably in the field of Medical Office or Business Administration from an accredited educational institution.
- Minimum of one (1) year of related experience preferably working within a clinic/health environment.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in assisting in clinical procedures in a physician's office or ambulatory care setting.
- Personal support worker or equivalent certification (preferred).
- Current BCLS.
- Previous experience in charting patients' medical details.
- Previous experience with an electronic medical record (EMR) program, preferably PSS.
- Must be able to chaperone female patients during personal care.
- Experience billing in a medical practice.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Demonstrated English language proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure with multiple competing demands.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented individual.
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance record.
