High Latitude Energy Consulting (HILAT) was created to advance remote renewable energy microgrids across Canada’s north. We are a small, technical team focused primarily on feasibility studies while supporting all work associated with renewable energy development. HILAT brings over 7 years of specific experience north of 60 and works closely with Inuit, First Nations, and Metis communities to advance these goals.

**The Opportunity**:
High Latitude Energy Consulting is seeking a Microgrid Project Coordinator to fill out our team. This position requires a motivated self-starter who can work effectively on their own as well as within a small team. Outside of the High Latitude team, this position will involve extensive work with various levels of government, Inuit, First Nations, and Metis communities and governing bodies, funding organizations, regulatory bodies, and third-party consulting firms. Travel to communities across Canada’s north will be required.

**Employment Status**: Permanent Full time - 40 hours per week

**Wage Range**: $38 to $48 per hour based on experience

- Collaborate with the Technical Manager to manage feasibility and possibly FEED studies for microgrid clients across Canada with focus on the technical, financial, socioeconomic, and regulatory components.
- Cooperate with funding bodies to identify and secure funding, communicate ongoing budgets, and deliver all interim and final reports on behalf of proponents.
- Liaise with relevant permitting and regulatory bodies
- Use industry standard software or design calculators to perform financial and energy modeling of renewable energy projects.
- Design and manage feasibility budgets containing multiple inputs, collaborators, third parties and proponents.
- Cooperate and facilitate project transfers to Solvest for deployment.
- Participate in Community Outreach and Public Education initiatives related to renewable energy
- Travel to remote communities across Canada’s northern territories is a requirement in this position.

**Desired Skills and Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary degree in Science, Engineering or a relevant Project Management field
- Working knowledge of feasibility processes
- Strong written and oral communication skills including good technical writing skills
- Financial management principles to ensure decisions are fiscally sound and responsible
- Ability to interpret data and clearly communicate technical information
- Ability to prioritize projects and tasks with tight timelines, and with attention to detail
- Willingness to take initiative in outreach engagement and form strong working relationships with all stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with various computer platforms including Microsoft 365, Google Suite, and Project Management software (ex. Monday)
- Familiarity with various energy modeling programs (RETScreen, PVSyst, HOMER, SAM, others)
- CAD experience would be an asset
- Renewable energy experience is an asset
- Experience living or working in Canada’s north is an asset
- Ability to speak Inuktitut is an asset

**Additional Requirements**:
Legally entitled to work full time in Canada
