**Job Overview**
The Developmental Service Worker plays a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities. This position involves assisting clients in daily living activities, promoting their independence, and ensuring their overall well-being. The Developmental Service Worker will be working alongside the team in the home to deliver the best care.

**Duties**
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including feeding, grooming, diaper changes, toileting and dressing.
- Provide medication administration as prescribed and ensure proper documentation.
- Support clients in daily living activities such as meal preparation.
- Engage clients in recreational and social activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Monitor and document client progress and any changes in behavior or health status.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist clients with mobility needs, including transferring and heavy lifting when necessary.

**Skills**
- Strong patient care skills with a focus on compassion and empathy.
- Experience in working with special needs adults
- Ability to perform medication administration accurately and responsibly.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- Capability to handle heavy lifting tasks safely while maintaining proper body mechanics.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while providing quality care.
- Able to pivot and become creative with planning activities
- Taking the client out in the community

This position requires dedication to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities through supportive services and compassionate care.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour

**Education**:

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

**Experience**:

- special needs: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- CPR Certification (required)
- First Aid Certification (required)
- NVCI (preferred)
