Department website: dan.uwo.ca **Responsibilities**: Under the supervision of Livia Veselka and Sumeet Khullar course coordianators will assist with the delivery of MOS 1021A and MOS 1023A. **Description for 1021A**: **Course Description**: Introduces students to the study of management and organizations, based on best available evidence. Modules in the course discuss topics in consumer behavior, marketing, and human resource management. These disciplines, which are informed by social science research, are fundamental to understanding products, consumer choice, markets, and the interface between employers and the organization. **Description for 1023A**: **Course Description**: This course provides students with a basic introduction to the fields of accounting and corporate finance. The accounting unit introduces students to basic accounting concepts from financial and managerial accounting. The corporate finance unit explains how financial markets work and how corporate managers use these markets to create and sustain corporate value. **Job information** - being the first contact point for all student administrative questions - liaising with publishers to ensure textbook access for all students, and arranging textbook accommodations for students with unique accessibility or financial needs - setting up and monitoring research participation through SONA - scheduling, printing, coordinating, overseeing exams (historically requires 50+ hours of work per exam, per course) - scheduling, printing, coordinating, overseeing makeup exams - ensuring all students with accessibility needs receive their needed accommodations (in lectures and during assessments) - reviewing and cleaning exam data files (correcting misprinted student numbers, incorrect version codes, poorly filled-in responses) - scheduling and facilitating exam review sessions (booking rooms, setting up equipment, managing student access) - assisting with administrative tasks on OWL/Brightspace **Qualifications**: **Education**: - Community College Diploma in a related field **Experience**: - 2 years' of relevant experience Skills, Abilities & Expertise: - Ability to follow processes with high attention to detail - Familiarity with adult learning principles preferred - Communication skills to describe technical concepts effectively to both novice and sophisticated users - Ability to summarize information and disseminate to others effectively in a timely manner - Ability to provide guidance, support and feedback in a way that is positively received - Organizational and multi-tasking skills to prioritize and consistently produce high-quality work - Demonstrated ability to coach and support learners, and to enable individuals to learn - Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public - Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite - Ability to work within a flexible schedule to accommodate the University's events and activities **Why Western?**: Consideration of applicants will include an assessment of previous performance, experience, and qualifications.
