**Basic Function**:As an Estimator for Sierra General Contracting, you will use your strong analytical and technical capabilities to:

- Prepare timely and accurate project budgets and quotations
- Be responsible for all quantity surveying as required for projects including Site Improvements, Concrete, Insulation, Carpentry, Miscellaneous Specialties, Mechanical and Electrical Civil Items

**Job Duties**:

- Assist in the preparation of bid calendar for estimating department to ensure due diligence of all proposals
- Prepare detailed estimates/budgets for Lump Sum, Construction Management, and Design-Build projects
- Utilize procedures, methods, and processes for the estimating department
- Estimate number set up
- Subtrade quotation solicitation and review
- Take-off and pricing
- General Conditions pricing
- Document Control
- Bonding and Insurance requests
- Maintain a trades database
- Assistant in the award of all subcontractor work
- Detailed quote and schedule review and development of detailed scope of work for use in Subtrade Proposal Review Meetings and Scope of Work of Subcontracts
- Facilitate Subtrade Proposal Review Meetings with subcontractor, project manager and superintendent
- Prepare formal Subtrade Recommendations (for Construction Management Projects)
- Direct preparation of Subcontracts and review for issuance
- Perform pre-construction handover meetings with the project manager and site supervisor
- Review and site-visit ongoing projects
- Develop historical costing data from subcontractor bids and past projects performance
- Maintain and communicate data on construction and material cost trends
- Maintain professional development via conferences, courses, etc.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with qualified vendors and subcontractors; obtain bids with complete scopes of work for projects as applicable
- Mentor and support junior estimating staff
- Contribute to team effort by achieving team goals and promoting a positive atmosphere

**Education & Experience**:

- Diploma or degree in engineering, construction science/management, architecture technology or relevant field
- CET, GSC, or PQS certification is an asset
- Proven experience as construction estimator (1-2 years)

**Qualification & Skills**
- Knowledge of market labor, material, and equipment rates
- Expertise in Excel
- Great attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation abilities
- Well-organized, reliable, high level of integrity
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Revit is considered an asset

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
