We pride ourselves on maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Microbiology Laboratory Technician to join our rapidly growing team.
- Prepares and provides requisite materials including media, reagents, cultures and solutions; pours large volumes of plates and culture maintenance
- Subsequent clean-up of the laboratory space with the appropriate handling and disposal of used materials and cultures at the end of each laboratory exercise
- Demonstrates proper and safe operation of equipment including: autoclave, steamer, centrifuge, compound microscopes and fume hood
- Perform routine laboratory procedures including analyzing and reviewing data
- Receive and test samples
- Receive, prepare, test, release materials used for QC testing
- Develop various testing processes for all raw materials and equipment, and monitor all finished products
- Maintain accurate records and perform tests on all activities conducted in the laboratory
- Develop and document various microbiology laboratory processes and prepare final reports
- 8-hour shift is expected (i.e. night shift and weekends as needed)
- Anticipates stock levels and replenishes in a timely manner

**Qualifications**:

- Degree in microbiology or College Diploma in Biology or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in a microbiology testing lab is preferable
- Ability to execute experimental protocols
- Proficient in methods and practices of microbiological analysis
- Ability to work well both independently and as a team
- Strong problem solving and multitasking skills
- Regular lifting and moving of heavy objects (media bottles, flasks, buckets and glassware racks)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
